Great Google Sitemap WP Plugin, Simple Google Sitemap

I always used a free sitemap generator like XML-sitemaps for creating my Google sitemap, quickly. The only downside is that my blog are dynamic and change every day, while my sitemap not.

Thus, to simplify all the process, I’m using a useful Wordpress plugin called “Simple Google Sitemap“. Once you make a new post, this plugin create a dynamic sitemap, that allows you to save a lot of your time.

You can assign ‘priority levels’ and ‘change frequency’ to your posts, pages and articles.

How To Install it:

  1. Upload the folder simple-google-sitemap to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Create an empty file sitemap.xml in your blogs root folder and make it writeable (chmod 666).
  3. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  4. Edit and save the Simple Sitemap options in the admin panel and create your first sitemap. You can browse the result at http://your.blog.tld/sitemap.xml.
  5. Nothing else to do. From now on, the plugin creates a new sitemap whenever you publish or delete an article and Google will be notified about the new sitemap.

Once created, just post your sitemap url to Google Webmaster Tools and Google will have up-to-date info about your blog’s changes.
